A 3D model for a bedroom with a contemporary and feminine style built around the colour pink. The room needs to function both as a bedroom and a study, due to the limited amount of space in the two bedroom apartment, while also offering plenty of storage for clothing and various other items.
I have decided to get rid of the free-standing wardrobe to free up floorspace, moving my clothes into the built-in closet, which currently houses items that will be removed in the incoming months. I will also be replacing my current desk with a smaller one coupled with a cube storage system to gain extra storage and increase desk space by up to 54cm. Experimenting with the positioning of the study area also gave me the idea to replace the closet hinged doors with sliding ones so that I could have more usable wall and floor space.
I was looking to completely redesign the room by creating a feature wall with a mix of wood slat panelling and a sponge paint pattern as I really loved the look and felt it would be more interesting than just using wallpaper. Looking for inspirations also gave me the idea to use mirrored sliding doors for the built-in closet so that I could have a full body view when getting ready unlike the current free-standing mirror. I will also be turning the extra floorspace from removing the wardrobe into a dressing area/relaxed seating area for when having friends over.
This is the final floorplan I'm going for, I have decided to remove the old electric heater behind the bed which will allow me to push the bed further back against the wall and create extra space at the foot so that I can more comfortably open up the bed. I have also decided to get rid of the runner by the bed and have a round area rug by the seating area instead, as I felt that it better tied the room together.
A concept board to envision the look I am going for with the room. I intend to have slats featuring behind and in front of the bed, encasing the sleeping area. The rest of the right-side wall will feature a leaf-like sponge pattern to brighten up the seating area, with an oversized round mirror and a tall palm plant to tie it all together. I intend to replace the current carpet flooring with the same parquet featured in the living areas of the flat as I like it better and I think the colour would brighten up the room and make the circular fur rug more of a standout. I will also be replacing the current wooden blinds with a sheer voile, as I've never been a big fan of them. The voile will be coupled with blackout plain grey curtains to complement the pink in the room but not detract from the slats and sponge pattern.
